Lock cylinders are under threat by thieves with new techniques know as 'Lock Bumping' and 'Lock Snapping'.

Lock bumping can be used on many locks fitted during the last 20 years.  The method involves the use of special keys knocked into the lock cylinder 'bumping' the pins to gain entry with no sign of forced entry* (see notes below regarding this).

Lock snapping is a means of attacking the lock cylinder itself to force entry. Using various methods.

But lock bumping is relatively new and whilst we do not want to scare people we feel this important message should be told.
